I purchased this item in September. It is extremely FAST and very fun to operate. It's an exciting hobby to get involved with and very soon you will find yourself purchasing a lot of aftermarket hop-ups to get even more speed and durability out of the Jato. If you like going fast and have patience to break-in the engine properly as noted in the instructions, then this is the item for you! I've already invested at least the amount of money I saved buying on Amazon back into the Jato just to get more speed and durability...It's not the item to get if your kid totally likes to demolish his toys! I bought my son (10 yrs old) the Traxxas T-Max and it's plenty durable for him (he takes care of all of his things).

I got this car for my husband for his birthday and he absolutely loves it! It is pricey, but as long as you don't run into anything head on at the high speeds it will hold up..we did run into a telephone pole head on and it was only minor damage and not too expensive to fix. We take it to the school's empty parking lot and build a ramp to jump the busses! I think the next jump is the house!

Battery leak

Bought the Jato 3.3 for my son, 15 years of age. The car is very fast and he could handle
it easily. The problem came after the first days use. The servo batteries were dead. Upon inspection
I saw that they were leaking from the ends of the batteries. We cleaned it up and replace the 4 AA batteries
and ran again the next day. When we were done I checked the batteries again. The same problem, they
had burst and were leaking. After calling the tech line, I was given a few questionable reasons for this happening.
Bottom line, nothing should cause something like this. I replaced the AA holder with the 5 cell battery upgrade.
This seems to work fine, no leaking. They should eliminate the cheap 4 battery holder and supply the better
battery pack. Making something cheap and expecting a customer to upgrade to the good parts is bull!
When this car is gone, I will never buy from this company again. Put some pride in what you make!
