Team Associated RC10R5 RC Car Review

Team Associated’s newest rc car entry into the market is the Factory Team RC10R5. The RC10R5 is part of the 1:10 scale onroad racing class. The RC10R5 is built on a 2.5mm woven carbon fiber chassis that uses pivot-ball link rear suspension that permits individual adjustments for chassis roll, bump and alignment. The pivot ball-link chassis has been deemed to be more durable in high speed crashes and handles better on bumpy tracks. The RC10R5 also employs new shocks that utilize a through-shaft type design, making for balanced damping throughout the full path of the shock in either direction, without any unwanted recoil. The middle shock tower has four fastening positions that split the spring rates for even minute adjustments. The brand new center shock also oversees the chassis droop and can be tuned on the car with a turnbuckle type wrench. This makes it easier and faster to get it tuned in. The RC10R5’s ‘Active Strut’ front end has been bettered, featuring symmetric parts with an adjustable caster and track width, as well as a new front axle with wheel nut. Factory Team blue aluminum servo mounts position the servo flat on the chassis for a lower center of gravity and include Ackermann adjustment spacers. The foam front bumper helps protect body and chassis in case of crashes. The RC10R5 also boast a wide rear pod optimized and balanced for brushless, woven carbon fiber top plate, and Factory Team blue aluminum machined motor mount and left-side bulkhead. The woven carbon fiber top plate fastens to the engine mount and left side bulkhead at four points, making the RC10R5’s rear pod more stiff and durable.
