Okay so here it is, the vintage Tamiya Lamborghini Countach LP500S CS is another one the most famous RC car classics ever made!  This was also made in the late 70s, so it's also one of Tamiya's oldest and fastest models made at the time.  You may be tempted to race it against new models available today, but a true collector would want to maintain this beauty's condition. 

This RC was meant to win races and was labeled by Tamiya as "Competition Special" to illustrate that fact.  This was meant to be a Pan class on-road RC car racer and this lightweight 1/12th scale model actually was one of the first to feature a massive RS 540 sized motor (which were normally used on 1/10th scales and up only). 

To improve handling and torsion resistance at high speeds on the track, the vintage Tamiya Lamborghini Countach LP500S CS pan car cleverly used a lightweight but strong metal (aluminum) for the chassis (for it's higher strength and low weight for a metal) and plastic parts were used on up to shed weight and to maintain impact resistance in the event of an crash.  This is a very smart design for a lower center of gravity standpoint as well, as the denser aluminum material is closer to the ground as well (to keep it planted to the ground).
