The vintage Tamiya Sand Scorcher is one of the oldest RC models made by Tamiya and was very popular.  There is now a re-release of this, however from a collector's standpoint the original model from the late 70s is much more valuable.  What's unique about this RC model other then the buggy/beetle shaped design, is the rear tires had a special tread that made it perform in sand and most terrain very well!  It also had a full sized RS-540 motor, so ample enough power at the beach or wherever you desire to run the vintage or new-released version of the Tamiya Sand Scorcher buggy.
