Both the new re-release and vintage Tamiya Lunchbox are tough looking with that extra finesse!  A van over a monster truck platform makes a really cool looking RC truck!  The matching yellow wheels and body is a nice touch as well!  Years ago, I personally had and loved bashing one of the original vintage Tamiya Lunchbox R/C trucks back when I was a kid back in the 80s.  Because of it's popularity, this is another one of those RC classics that Tamiya re-released so you can buy the remakes new as of this day!  Don't let the 1/12th scale fool you, this monster truck is comparable to many 1/10th scales made today. 

Despite it's rugged looks, it is 2WD only, however it was also less than half the cost of most 4x4 RC trucks of the time.  Don't be fooled though, the 2WD version still handled most terrain fairly well, had decent speed, and this design makes it possible to punch out wheelies!  Lots of fun!  I would estimate the speed in the 20mph range with the stock motor that came with it, however you can make these things go nearly any speed with the right ESC, motor, and battery upgrades.

Collectors will want the original vintage models, luckily we have listings for both the original, vintage version from the 1980s as well as the new model kits available today.
