The vintage Tamiya Hornet RC car was such a hit, that Tamiya decided to re-release it.  So at the link, we list both the vintage and new versions for sale.  This buggy was another one of the popular 2WD racers back in the 1980s, nice looking body and chassis, with a very similar design as the Tamiya Grasshopper and the Kyosho Ultima in looks.  The new re-release currently comes in your choice of either kit form or fully assembled right out of the box XB version. 

For collectors, note the first vintage version was released in 1984 and was simply known as the Tamiya Hornet, however in the late 80s the company started making essentially the same R/C car but under the name of Tamiya Turbo Hornet, (most likely as a marketing ploy), but they were pretty much the same RC car kit with nearly identical body, parts, and motor.

For power, the Tamiya Hornet comes with a stock RS-540 brushed motor, so it's a fast one to boot, however for the ultimate speed fanatics, you can also upgrade to the best of newer electronics with a brushless motor and more powerful ESC.  Should keep up with the best R/C models with the right brushless motor and ESC combination.
