The HPI Micro RS4 is a mini 1/18th scale on-road racing car that comes in either RTR or kit form.  The RTR (Ready to Run out of the box) version also comes with the radio and receiver, whereas the kit allows for more customization.  Due to their smaller size, they're also easier to run on smaller and indoor tracks.  Don't let their small size fool you however, they are quite speedy!  This micro is 1/18 scale, which essentially a smaller version of the 1/10 scale, however this one is electric (runs on batteries) whereas the full sized 1/10 scale version came in nitro.

On-Road Performance:

Stock, right out of the box and in stock form, the HPI Micro RS4 can hit speeds up to 20mph (which is pretty darn fast for a RC car of this size).  It really depends on what types of batteries and how many cells you're using (more cells means higher voltage at the motor).  With decent quality AA batteries, this on-road racing car can have nearly an hour of drive time, whereas with cheap or smaller AAA batteries the time can be as little as 10 minutes.  It's much better to use the larger AA sized batteries for their longer run times, unless you're racing and need to shave off as much weight as possible and need the batteries to last just long enough to finish the race.  However, with brushless or larger motor mods, and possible gearing adjustments, 40mph to 60mph is not unheard of which is crazy fast for this size!  For new drivers, we recommend you get accustomed with the handling of the HPI Micro RS4 in its stock form first, before pushing things even harder.  Also remember an on-road RC touring or pan car such as this and at this scale means very little body clearance and most likely will get stuck in even small gravel.  A flat, paved surface and/or indoor carpet track are a must for favorable driving conditions.
